The New Mayor Vows a 'New Era' for New York City in First Address
During an inauguration day in office, Zohran Mamdani vowed to “reinvent” the metropolis, declaring “a different age” and an ambitious beginning to his tenure.
A Historic Leader
The new political star, who just a year ago remained a virtually unknown state assemblyman, now stands as the city's first mayor of South Asian descent. He additionally marked a milestone by being the first to be take the oath of office using the Qur'an.
